Arizona Young Adult Outpatient Recovery Program

Home / Arizona Young Adult Outpatient Recovery Program

For young adults and their families, acknowledging drug or alcohol addiction is the difficult first step on the road to healing. The next step, choosing a treatment option, is equally difficult and vitally important. The success of the next weeks and months of treatment can determine a young person’s health and quality of life for years to come.

At Elm Tree Recovery, we believe longer-term treatment delivers the best outcomes. However, our team understands that 90 days or more of residential rehab is not practical for some clients. As an alternative, we offer outpatient therapy that allows a young man or woman to live at home or in our sober living community while participating in therapy and clinical treatment sessions on a routine outpatient schedule.

Structure of Outpatient Treatment

Elm Tree outpatient treatment keeps young adult clients engaged in their recovery while they live at home and participate in everyday activities. Regularly scheduled evening sessions include:

  • Group therapy
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Biofeedback
  • Neurofeedback
  • Education on relapse prevention
  • Motivational interviewing
  • Psychoeducation
  • 12-step support groups
  • Trauma recoveryDrug & alcohol screening

Outpatient participants are encouraged to arrive on time, actively participate and share insights and problems from their own lives.

Benefits of Outpatient Therapy

Young adults attending outpatient therapy can benefit in a number of ways. First, it is a less expensive alternative to residential treatment. From a logistical standpoint, participants are able to live at home and continue with school, work or family commitments. Clients have greater opportunities to use the coping strategies they are learning in real-life situations while they maintain close ties to supportive family and friends. Outpatient therapy may also be valuable for those requiring continuing clinical treatment, since they can establish and maintain long-term ties to their local providers.

A Network of Recovery Support

Along with the benefits of outpatient addiction treatment come challenges for you and your child.
