The collegiate recovery program at Arizona State University is called “Recovery Rising” and their mission is to engage students into what the recovery lifestyle is like at ASU. Recovery Rising helps coordinate social events, education, community service, support and meetings. The aim of inducting a collegiate experience is to help the individual discover their path. To do so participation in a collegiate recovery program is encouraged.
Research indicates that participation in collegiate recovery program reduces the frequency of relapse and increases the average GPA of the participant. Collegiate recovery programs prove that college students can engage in social activities, find joy, and find a stable recovery environment.
